Crime thrillers research
Crime thrillers are a hybrid of crime films and thrillers. They often use suspense of successful or failed crimes, which usually focus on the criminal(s) rather than the policeman/detective. They normally emphasise over psychological aspects such as killers/murders, robberies, chases, shootouts, heists and double crossers. Many crime thrillers revolve around revenge, due to a death or possible double crossing.
Other conventions:
protagonist with tro0ubled past and vulnerable family.
Revolves around secret organisation.
Binary opposites.
dark lighting.
screen time focuses on good and bad characters.
few locations but within the same country.
music important as it as it builds up tension.
